Our client is currently seeking an experienced Production Engineer for an outstanding opportunity in the Denver area.

This key role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Petroleum Engineering or closely related field and a minimum of four years of work experience as Drilling Superintendent or Completions Superintendent.  Conventional, non-conventional, horizontal and directional drilling, completion services, including well stimulation and oil rig experience.

This position will be responsible for managing drilling, completion, production and work over operations and personnel in the Piceance Basin. You will coordinate the development, procurement and constructions of well pads, site facilities, water hauling facilities and well treatment.  An excellent Total Compensation package including benefits and relocation will be offered the selected candidate.

Experience and skills required:

Senior Staff Production Engineer

This project is a multi-TCF gas pool being developed by the operator and its partner. The project is slated to be on production in 2 years at an estimated cost in excess of $2 billion.  Our Team is looking to fill a key technical position. We are seeking a Senior Staff Production Engineer to be based in Calgary, Alberta. This position represents a key technical position within the integrated Subsurface Team for multiple deepwater blocks.   Working within a fully integrated team you will be responsible for providing production engineering expertise for the offshore deepwater gas field development project and other fields within the portfolio. This role requires experience in deepwater gas developments, including experience in design, production and analysis.   The position will initially be Calgary based but incumbent must be willing to relocate to if required (ex-pat).

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a technical specialist and resource to the team on all production engineering  matters
  • Preparing recommendations and documentation in support of deepwater gas field development and production engineering
  • Design and support well completion, re-completion, stimulation and abandonment
  • Design and implement workover, artificial lift and sand control
  • Initial and final production rate (IPR/TPR) outflow performance evaluation and tubing selection along with optimum rate determination
  • Well performance analysis, diagnosis and well surveillance
  • Production, injection data management for daily data reporting and analysis
  • Ensure adequate well start-up and shut-down procedures are prepared and followed for deepwater wells
  • Assist in the development and implementation of flow assurance techniques and program
  • Identify risks and risk mitigation strategies/actions
  • Close liaison with Drilling and Completions, Facilities and Reservoir Engineers. Liaise with well and well services Supervisor for well operations
  • Work with cross-functional team, including FEED team to achieve well and field optimization
  • Implement project plans and schedules in a timely manner
  • Ensuring that a culture of strong and effective team-work exists the subsurface Team
  • Interface with partners and government authorities

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • An Engineering Degree, preferably in Petroleum Engineering. A Masters degree in Geosciences would be a definite asset
  • 15 years of Production Engineering experience
  • 10 years of international exploration and offshore/deepwater gas field development/production experience, including subsea development/operations, design, production and analysis
  • Solid working knowledge with downhole tools and equipment including onshore and offshore operations
  • Working knowledge of geology and reservoir engineering
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment dealing with people from various disciplines to achieve goals, and to identify and resolve problems
  • Strong command of the English language, with good oral and written communication skills

Specific responsibilities of the position are:

  • Design and monitor formation evaluation programs
  • Ensure quality of load data
  • Conduct petrophysical analyses on single wells and on multi-well projects
  • Mentor and advise staff on petrophysical data and interpretations

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Geology, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a combination of logging operations, log analysis, and/or geology
  • Currently registered, or eligible for registration with The Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in designing and monitoring logging programs and conducting petrophysical evaluations of single wells and multi-well projects

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Interact constantly with the front office traders to ensure that the market risks arising from day-to-day trading positions are fully understood and managed appropriately within the limit framework.

KEY EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Minimum education; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Economics.  MBA or other Master’s level degree highly preferred.

Significant experience in Market Risk, preferably with exposure to US energy markets gained within a dynamic international bank.

Strong analytical ability and judgment skills.

Proven ability to balance the need to switch between being immersed detailed day to day activity and problem-solving versus managing higher level longer term activities and objectives.

This evaluation work will require integration of information derived from a variety of sources including open and cased hole well logs, mud logs, sidewall cores, full cores, RFT / MDT pressure test / fluid samples, mini-fracs, Diagnostic Fracture Injectivity Tests (DFIT), geochem analysis, and the like. Additionally, the role may also perform advanced geomechanics evaluation in order to make predictions related to wellbore stability assessment, formation sanding potential, principal present-day stresses analysis, and mechanical property determination useful in defining barriers to hydraulic fracture growth. Characterization of naturally fractured reservoirs will be an important aspect of the job.

Minimum Requirements:

Viable candidates must have at least an undergraduate degree in Engineering or Geosciences and a minimum of 15 years of relevant formation evaluation experience as a Petrophysicist including significant experience in unconventional resource plays.

As the senior advisor, you will help mentor engineers on all shale hydraulic stimulation jobs whether onsite or remote. Maximize use of real-time fracture diagnostics and simulation. Provide detailed post-job reports on all jobs including modeling of most-likely fracture geometry obtained from net pressure matching and other data.  Provide post-frac well performance forecasting based on fracture geometries approximated from real-time data acquisition and pressure matching. You should have a mastery skills in rock mechanics for hydraulic fracture simulation, designing hydraulic fracturing, diagnostic testing and evaluation of hydraulic fracturing, QA/QC techniques and post-job performance assessment is a required.

The ideal candidate will have at minimum of a BS in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering, with a very strong preference for an advance level degree.  A Professional Engineering license would be preferred.  You must possess at least 15 or more years of experience with an emphasis in rock mechanics, geomechanics and hydraulic fracture stimulation.   Experience in unconventional plays is a must.

Our client, an active operator in the Texas Panhandle and Western Oklahoma, is seeking an experienced Reservoir Engineer for their office in San Antonio, Texas.

The job duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Reservoir management including volumetrics and pressure transient analysis to estimate reserves and characterize various reservoirs to define proper spacing of horizontal wells
  • Perform nodal analysis studies to optimize artificial lift methods on operated wells
  • Perform decline analysis and reserve determination
  • Complete economic runs to determine the viability of various farm out and acquisition scenarios
  • Coordinate core analysis and PVT analysis on developing plays
  • Additional experience with production operations and drilling is a plus

Experience and skills required:

  • BS in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of industry experience with a minimum of five years in applicable reservoir engineering positions and duties.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and identify as well as develop and execute various reservoir projects.  Must also be able to work in conjunction with production and drilling departments in identifying drill candidates and well optimization candidates
  • Experience with WIM, Prosper, Aries and Powertools or comparable programs a strong plus
