Senior International Exploration Geologist

A dynamic and successful international oil & gas exploration and production company with an exciting portfolio of operated and non-operated projects is currently seeking a Senior Exploration Geologist. With a strong production base in Australia, the Company is pursuing an aggressive international growth strategy, backed by cash holdings of nearly A $100 million to ramp up its international E&P and acquire prospective acreage.

With its aggressive growth profile, this company is now seeking a Senior Geologist with outstanding technical skills to join a small focused technical team working on a range of projects across our international project areas and to participate in domestic and international new ventures work. This is an opportunity to join as it enters its next phase of growth as a leading mid-tier international oil & gas company, with three international plus several domestic wells planned to be drilled this year.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with 10-15+ years broad international experience in Exploration, Production and New Ventures roles.

A sound basis in the geological applications of wireline logs and experience in multiple basins, depositional settings and structural styles, with a solid understanding of stratigraphy and structural geology are required.

With experience in both Operated and Non-Operated joint venture work, the candidate should primarily be a strong team player and good communicator, with the ability to influence others in the team and have the confidence and ability to present convincing views to partners and government organizations.

New Ventures evaluation experience should include the ability to quickly assess the fundamental geological prospectivity of a license or project, to quantify probabilistic and deterministic volumetrics and to understand project economics. The role will entail international and domestic travel as the candidate works on existing projects and helps to secure exciting new projects for the Company.
