COMPLETIONS MANAGER

HOUSTON, TEXAS

Global Energy Firm is seeking an experienced Completions Manager for their Houston office.  You will lead and direct the Completions area in this key Managerial role.  In the highly visible role, you will ensure that all completions and stimulations are appropriately designed and executed in a safe, efficient and responsible way.

A few of your key responsibilities will include:

•Ensures that all completions and stimulations projects have dedicated engineering manpower. Assigns engineering staff to projects.

•Ensures completions and stimulations designs are safe, efficient and employ “best practices”.

•Works with the Engineers & Superintendents to ensure drilling projects are executed optimally.

•Establishes standard practices/ SOP’s for local engineers.

•Ensures standard practices are applied to design, execution and post well activities.

•Serves as single point of contact for all completions and stimulations requests that come from Asset and Exploration teams.

•Distributes all procedures, estimates etc. to Asset teams.

•Reviews and approves procedures, technical details and hazard/risk analyses.

•Approves all completions and stimulations work procedures.

•Approves all completions and stimulations design changes using MOC process.

•Coordinates with Asset Team & Execution Team leads to adequately plan and execute projects.

•In conjunction with the Drilling Leadership Team, accountable for overall completions and stimulations cost, safety, and environmental performance.

•Ensures that Department processes, procedures, and plans are in-place to facilitate knowledge transfer, maximize efficiency, and minimize mistakes.

•Promotes and encourages appropriate risk taking

•Participates in well design reviews and risk analysis. Ensures they are effective and follow department and global standards.

•Provides technical support on daily operations.

•Assign Contract responsibilities to Engineers and ensure compliance w/ Contractor Management standards.

•Monitors and takes an active role in ensuring all Engineers receive appropriate training – technical, safety and compliance

•Participates with Engineers and vendors on continuous improvement.

•Accountable for knowing and complying with all applicable regulations and Company HES training requirement and policies.

•Provides relief for Drilling Manager during his absence.

•Benchmarks to assess Dept. performance, strengths and weaknesses, and establish goals. Provides benchmark data to CDG Performance Engineer annually.

•Encourages and rewards continuous improvement and proper application of technology and best practices.

•Provides for personal development of direct reports through assignments, training, and coaching.

•Conduct performance appraisals / coordinates Personal Development Plans for all direct reports.

•Develops and executes succession plans for all Departmental positions to ensure continuity of Group.

 

Selected candidates will have the following required background qualifications
•Minimum 10 years oil field experience with 8 in Completions and/or Stimulations•Bachelors Degree in Engineering discipline

•Strong Risk Management capability

•Strong Project Management skills

•Demonstrated Commercial skills

•Developed Management of Change Process skills

•Demonstrated Leadership skills

•Strong Organizational skills

•Strong Teamwork skills

•Strong Analytical and Problem Solving capabilities
