PROFESSIONAL  EXPERIENCE

Rock Core Identification and Correlation / State Department of Transportation /Member of an engineering investigation project for a new interstate, assisted with the identification and correlation of over 2,000 of rock core from various locations. Assisted with the preparation of cross-sections and boring logs.

Landfill Permit Preparation / Private Client / Member of an engineering and hydrogeology team, assisted with the site investigation boring program and preparation of cross sections for a restricted waste landfill permit application. Assisted with the preparation of geology and hydrogeology portions of the permit narrative.

Foundry and Coal Combustion Waste Classification / Private Client / Assisted with the development of a sampling and analysis plan for the analysis of foundry and coal combustion waste stream. Evaluated analytical results for waste stream and determined waste classifications based on statistical analysis methods in SW-846, IDEM guidance, and Indiana’s Solid Waste Regulations.

Coal Refuse Delineation/ State Department of Natural Resources / Assisted with the soil and rock classification, monitoring well installation and site conceptual model development at an abandoned mine land in Terra Haute, Indiana.  Characterization and delineation of the coal refuse was necessary to develop a corrective action plan for the acid mine drainage.

Groundwater Statistical Evaluations / Various State Clients / Managed and assisted with  groundwater statistical evaluations for restricted waste and municipal solid waste Landfill and RCRA sites, utilizing intra-well  and inter-well statistics in excel and DumpStat software. Prepared relevant investigative and remedial documents for submittal to the state agencies.

Statistical Evaluation Plans (StEP) / Various Clients / Developed and modified statistical evaluation plans for restricted waste and municipal solid waste landfill monitoring for submittal to the IDEM.

Site Characterization per RISC Guidelines / Various Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Sites and Chlorinated Solvent Sites/ Managed and performed the tasks associated with evaluating the nature and extent of petroleum and chlorinated solvent releases.  These tasks involve coordinating site investigations, collecting geologic, hydrologic and ecologic data and report generation.

Corrective Action Plan Development and Implementation/ Various LUST and Chlorinated Solvent Sites / Provide the client with the most applicable remedial technology that best satisfies the needs of the client.  CAPs implemented at UST sites have included dual phase high-vacuum extraction, mobile vacuum enhanced recovery, natural attenuation monitoring,  source removal, and risk assessment calculations.

UST Closure / Various Clients / Managed and conducted a UST removals and closure in accordance with the IDEM’s RISC program and 1994 UST Branch Guidance.

Hydrogeology / Various State Clients / Conducted percolation and hydraulic conductivity testing to determine the hydraulic characteristics of subsurface aquifers and soil for evaluation.
