In this key role, you will be responsible for performing technical analysis of upstream investment opportunities.  You will evaluate oil and gas reserves, systems, pipelines and markets in order to support lending and investment decisions. You will work on various projects where your experience in the operational side of Reservoir Engineering will have prepared you to quantify reserves, economic potential, identify reservoir, operational and commercial risk. 

You must have a true passion for Reservoir Engineering coupled with extensive operational experience.   Must be able to write and present conclusions effectively with senior management of the bank, its customers, other bankers and outside representatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong Reservoir Engineering background which includes extensive experience in onshore basin operations, strong experience of reserves, economic evaluations and acquisitions.  Additionally, the ideal candidate have Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, MBA preferred, at least 8-10 yrs of experience in U.S. petroleum reservoir engineering of which at least five should be in reserve evaluations.
 
You should have been with an upstream E&P company working as a reservoir engineer or M&A consultant or in a leading financial institution.  Senior Reservoir Engineer – Shelf Exploitation/Acquisition Group (2006 – 2009)   

Responsible for reservoir engineering support for all Western Gulf of Mexico properties with production of 100 MMcfd/1000 BOPD Net (approx. 1/3 of company production.)  Served as lead engineer in evaluation and acquisition of West Cameron asset for $71MM.  Subsequently installed additional compression and drilled 3 new wells resulting in addition of 34 Bcfe of net reserves.  With geophysicist, lead redevelopment of southern High Island field resulting in drilling 3 new wells with reserves of 15 Bcfe and addition of 30 MMcfd of production for $25MM investment.

 Senior Staff Reservoir Engineer – Gulf of Mexico Region (2005 – 2006)   

Responsible for reservoir engineering support for West Cameron/East Cameron/High Island Team.  Provided economic assessment and engineering support for new drilling prospects as well as development in established fields.  Performed nodal analysis, material balance, pressure transient, and rate transient analysis for support of reserve determinations and identification of new investment opportunities.

 Principle Reservoir Engineer – Reservoir Engineering Staff (2004)   

Responsible, with one other person, for implementing the Rose Risk Analysis methodology within Company.  As part of the process, training was provided to all Senior Executives, Managers and Directors, and Technical Staff within the company (conducted by Rose and Associates).  In conjunction with the region technical teams, conducted risk and reserve reviews for most of the company’s exploration and development inventory.  Provided individual coaching to the technical teams in the proper implementation of this process as well as the extension of the process to economic evaluations.

Project assignments to the Business Development Group included evaluation of two unsolicited offers to purchase Companies assets and performed screening evaluations on domestic acquisition targets with detailed financial evaluations and presentation of results.   • Familiarity with advanced methods of core retrieval handling and competent in the design of conventional and special core analysis programs.
  • Possess effective technical presentation and writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment
Additional Desired Qualifications:
  • Tight Gas Experience, preferably in South Texas OR Shale Oil and Gas Experience, preferably in Williston Basin
  • Familiarity with logging requirements for horizontal well sections, including equipment and risks
  • Working knowledge of fracture mapping

EXPLOITATION ENGINEER

HOUSTON, TEXAS

Join a leading Energy Company as their experienced Exploitation Engineeer that will be part of the Asset Development Team.

Your duties will be to coordinate the planning and financial activities for the multi-discipline Asset Development Team. Prepare and analyze business plans, economic evaluations, reserves evaluations, production forecasts, expense forecasts, AFE preparation, and capital requirements. Drive the project evaluation process, which includes; scope, identification of critical path and bottlenecks, milestones, tracking, capital efficiency, and resource requirements. Ensure that reservoir development, operations, and facilities activities are fully integrated. This key position will also be the focal point for handling the outside operated entities within the business unit, including analyzing AFE’s and project performance.

 

Required Qualifications:
  • Engineering Degree with a minimum of 5 years Oil & Gas Industry experience in development and operations.
  • Strong business background and understanding of key financial measures.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Leadership skills and ability to effectively interact with other professionals to advance projects/ideas.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team work skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
Additional Desired Qualifications:

Experience with Merak/PEEP, DSS
