To be considered for this position you must possess the following required qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years upstream oil & gas experience with 2 years in reservoir engineering focusing on secondary or enhanced oil recovery.
  • Demonstrated results in adding value through solid engineering and business / economic techniques.
  • Ability to make technically sound decisions and recommendations with less than perfect or complete input data.
  • Ability to interact in a cross-functional team environment and represent the company with other working interest partners.
  • Ability to be viewed as a leader on projects.
  • Ability to get a project pass the idea and design stage.
  • Business planning and reserves knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be creative and the desire to solve problems.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
  • CO2 experience would be a benefit.
  • Knowledge in geologic models.

FACILITIES ENGINEER

Great opportunity to join a world leader in the Energy Industry at their Houston offices.  Our client is seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer for their West Texas/New Mexico operations.

Your key responsibilites will include the designing, maintaining and optimizing upstream onshore West Texas/New Mexico surface facilities and production operations. The fields include primary production, waterflood fields and an expanding number of CO2 flooded fields; total Business Unit production is in the range of 200 MBOPD, 2 MMBWPD and 1.5 BCF/D of CO2 injection. Activities include working with subsurface/wells teams to design and install new facilities needed to address changing production rates; covering all aspects of project management from scope development, detailed design/estimating and project controls. Scope also includes working with Operations/Construction field personnel to troubleshoot operating issues, develop/implement solutions in order to optimize field activities and ensure mechanical integrity of equipment is maintained. There is a strong focus on Health, Environmental and Safety issues, which cover H2S handling, HAZOP type safety reviews, Management of Change (MOC’s) and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR). This role also interfaces with the Specialty Engineering group, and has responsibility to assist engineers in this group when it comes to tings like Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil or Electrical Engineering
  • 2 years minimum upstream E&P experience (prefer 4+ years)
  • Some industry training in upstream E&P areas is desired
  • Exposure to project management practices and field operations
  • Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • A self-starter at least on the verge of being able to work with minimal oversight
  • Ability to multi-task, and a willingness to quickly change work assignments
  • Willingness to travel 10-15%, most can be relatively short planned trips but on occasion they might be required on short notice or might be 1-2 weeks in duration
  • Proficient PC skills for Microsoft products
  • Permian Basin waterflood and/or CO2 experience a benefit
